D.I.Y. Pearl Trackpants & Rose Applique Blouse...

When you can't find something you want (or can't afford it), why not just make it yourself? I few months back I came across a gorgeous fashion editorial of Jennifer Aniston wearing a pair of track pants that had pearls down the stripe of the pants. Genius! Now where can I buy those? Knowing that the pants probably were out of my budget (they were), I decided to take matters into my own hands and make a similar pair myself. It's not at all hard to sew on a bunch of pearls to pants, so I found a cheap pair of track pants at Forever21 and hunted down the perfect pearl beads on Etsy. Once the beads arrived, I strategically placed each bead about 4 inches apart and hand-sewed them onto the stripe of the pants. The whole project probably took me about a 1/2 hour. For the blouse I found an adorable off-shoulder blouse online and also searched Etsy for the perfect rose embroidery patches. A lot of these are the type of patches can be ironed onto cotton fabric, but I opted to hand sew these roses on myself. The blouse did take a bit more time because I had to pin down the roses to keep them secure while I sewed. During this sewing project I binged-watched Stranger Things, so I recommend some form of entertainment while you sew because it can be time consuming, but also very therapeutic. I didn't plan for the pants and blouse to go together, but magically they do and I love this outfit! I added my Saint Laurent heart bag and spiked Louboutins for the finishing touch! xo Kelsey
